    Pyli Trikala Thessaly

    Pyli, meaning “gate”, is a semi mountainous village at an altitude of 230 m, in the Trikala Prefecture famous for the arched bridge with semicircular arc which was built from Agio Vissariona in 1514 to connect Thessaly and Epirus. The Portaikos river which is tributary of Pinios flows through the village, between the two facing mountains, Koziakas and Itamos, forming a natural amazing gate to the mountain range of Pindos.
