Soufli ( Greece ) is located in Thrace, 65 km from Alexandroupoli and 50 km from Oresteiada. The town center is 500 m from Evros river. It is famous for the silk industry that flourished there in the 19th century, when two monks smuggled seed silk from China in their canes. Today the tradition continues with a modern silk industry. The Silk Museum is housed in the beautiful Kourtidi mansion, built in 1855, where visitors will learn everything about silk.
