Lesvos Greece

Lesvos in Greece is one of the largest islands of the eastern Aegean Sea, with an area of 255 square kilometers and 102 miles (160 km) of coastline. It has a population of about 85.330 inhabitants. It is located between Chios and Lemnos and it is fertile, full of pine and olive trees. Mytilene, as people call it by the name of its capital, has everything. Mountains, valleys, green lands, magnificent bays and endless beaches and many other remarkable beauties such as the petrified forest, one of the most important monuments and the hot springs, known since antiquity for their beneficial effects and are the hottest in Europe. There also archaeological sites, Venetian and Byzantine castles, majestic monasteries and churches, museums and villages with traditional architecture. Today, the island is a popular tourist destination, ideal either for cosmopolitan holidays or quiet. There are developed tourist resorts, with excellent infrastructure, where one can enjoy all the modern amenities. The accommodations will leave the best impression. The beaches are stupendous with crystal and clear waters that can satisfy all tastes. There is a great variety, as others are small and quaint, and others are large and worldly. There are also with cool water such as in Gulf of Kalloni and Gera and others with colder waters such as those overlooking the Aegean Sea.
