Leros Greece

Leros in Greece ( Dodecanese ) is located on the southern Aegean Sea, 171 nautical miles away from Piraeus port and it has a surface area of almost 74 km2 and a coastline of 71 km. It is known for its imposing medieval castle built on a Byzantine fortress. Its feature is the Italian architecture and the War Museum, built in a tunnel of the mountain by the Italians in 1930 as an ammunition depot. The Municipal Airport at Partheni connects the island daily with Athens. There are also ferry connections to and from Piraeus and other islands.
