Chios Greece

Chios in Greece is one of the islands of the Eastern Aegean chain, it is located only 3,5 nautical miles from the coasts of Asia Minor, it has an area of almost 842 km2 and 213 km of coastline. It has many beautiful villages and shores. The island is mostly mountainous with the highest peak in 1,297 meters, it has Mediterranean climate and several locally grown exportable products, such as the famous Mastic. It is also known for the well preserved medieval villages and castles, the monasteries and the local customs and traditions. There is a National Airport with frequent flights during all the year. There are also daily ferries in summer and less often on winter from Piraeus and Rafina Port and from Lemnos, Mytilene, Samos, Kavala, Alexandroupoli, Thessaloniki, Kalymnos, Kos, Rhodes, Leros, Patmos, Volos, Oinousses, Psara and Cesme of Turkey.
