Anastasioupolis are the ancient ruins of a Byzantine city, near Iasmos and Amaxades in Thrace not far from Lake Vistonida. Anastasioupoli was founded in 495 AD by Anastasios I. The remaining ruins are the towers which reinforced the enclosure, walls from the perimeter and part of the aqueduct. Also found at this site were ceramics dated from the Byzantine to Roman eras. The area was also referred to as Peritheorion, and had a Turkish name as well: Buru Kale.
